CAD Technician I – Security Division

• The majority of your time is spent designing and documenting advanced commercial security integration solutions that protect people, property, and business operations.
• As a key member of the engineering team, you will use AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel daily to develop accurate shop drawings, as-built drawings, and technical documentation for systems including CCTV, access control, fire alarm panels, remote access solutions, and IP camera configurations across a wide range of commercial environments.
• Create and revise 2D and 3D drawings using CAD software (LINX uses AutoCAD and Bluebeam primarily).
• Interpret sketches, specifications, and design instructions to produce accurate drawings.
• Maintain organized drawing files and documentation.
• Assist with design changes and updates based on feedback.
• Ensure drawings comply with company standards and industry regulations.
• Perform basic calculations and measurements as needed.
• Partner with project managers, the engineering team, sales personnel and estimators to ensure timely project delivery.
• Partner with the engineering team to design and document commercial security integration solutions.

• Associate degree, technical certificate, or coursework in CAD, Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
• Internship, apprenticeship, or hands‑on CAD drafting experience in a business environment
• Proficiency in AutoCAD software (additional CAD platforms is a plus!)
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
• Familiarity with commercial building drawings, floor plans, and construction documentation
