Within TCM, the Bulk Chemical Delivery (BCD) group plays a critical role — managing the complex systems and infrastructure that supply high-purity liquid chemicals to Intel's world-class fabrication facilities. From ultrapure acids, solvents, and specialty process chemicals to cutting-edge metrology, the BCD team keeps the factory running with a focus on safety and quality.
This role will focus on qualifying and maintaining ICP-MS instruments within the Bulk Chemical Delivery (BCD) area. This role can grow beyond the ICP-MS to support the BCD metrology roadmap for chemical quality control and detection. The individual will partner with the Foundry QR Wet Lab engineers to develop and optimize sample analysis on these instruments. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Maintains the analytical equipment that resides within the Bulk Chemical Delivery (BCD) areas including overseeing the vendor maintenance activities, recipes, system fingerprint, and responding to alarms and errors
- Assist in developing the facilities specification and design packages for the installation of the BCD metrology equipment
- Responsible for ensuring the ICP-MS instrument matching from site to site and between BCD and the Wet Lab for data integrity purposes
- Creates the documentation packages for sampling procedures
- Write White Papers in support of the instrument qualifications and optimization
- Creates the training plan and packages for engineers and technicians to become proficient in analytical equipment
- Determines the IDL, MDL, PQL for the given instruments and develops automated responses, alarm limits, and trending
- Performs analysis of operational processes, resource allocation, safety processes, recommends and implements improvements in relation to the BCD metrology roadmap
- Support the integration, development, and documentation of novel metrology instrumentation or new applications of existing capabilities (e.g., titrations)
Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Requirements listed would be obtained through a combination of industry relevant job experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork/classes/research.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field with 1+ years of analytical chemistry lab experience
- OR
- Master's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field with 6+ months of analytical chemistry lab experience
Analytical chemistry lab experience includes at least one of the following:
- Hands-on experience working in an analytical chemistry laboratory environment, including the operation, calibration, and maintenance of analytical instrumentation such as ICP-MS, ICP-OES, AAS, or similar trace elemental analysis tools
- Demonstrated proficiency in analytical laboratory practices, including sample preparation, data interpretation, quality control procedures, and the use of analytical instrumentation to support quantitative or qualitative chemical analysis
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Agilent
7900 or 8900 ICP-MS instruments and LIMS data acquisition tool - Hands-on experience preparing samples and running ICP-MS analytical techniques
- Hands-on experience with performing maintenance and troubleshooting analytical instruments
