Pet Smart is seeking a Senior Industrial Engineer to optimize retail and distribution operations across our North American network. In this role, you will analyze store and DC workflows, design labor standards, and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, safety, and service for pet parents. You will lead time studies, capacity modeling, and layout design, partnering with operations, merchandising, and IT.

Responsibilities include data-driven root-cause analysis, piloting and scaling new solutions, standard work documentation, and change management. You'll mentor junior engineers and support strategic initiatives that advance Pet Smart's pet-first, people-focused culture.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze store and distribution center processes to identify efficiency and quality improvements
  • Conduct time and motion studies, work sampling, and labor standard development
  • Design and optimize facility layouts, material flow, and space utilization
  • Develop capacity models and forecasting tools to support labor and capital planning
  • Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean/Six Sigma methodologies
  • Collaborate with operations, merchandising, and IT on solution design and implementation
  • Create standard work, SOPs, and training materials for new processes
  • Monitor KPIs and performance dashboards to track impact of initiatives
  • Lead pilots, change management, and scaling of successful process improvements
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams
