Engineering Specialist

Ryder System is seeking an Engineering Specialist to optimize logistics, transportation, and warehousing operations. In this role, you will analyze data, map processes, and design engineered labor standards to improve productivity, safety, and cost efficiency across fleet and distribution networks. You will support implementation of new layouts, material flow, and technology solutions, develop KPIs and performance reports, and collaborate with operations, IT, and customers.

The position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency with Excel and engineering tools, and experience in industrial, systems, or logistics engineering.

Responsibilities

• Analyze logistics, transportation, and warehousing operations to identify improvement opportunities
• Design engineered labor standards, process flows, and facility layouts
• Develop and track KPIs, dashboards, and performance reports for operations
• Support implementation of new technology, automation, and optimization tools
• Conduct time studies, capacity analyses, and network modeling
• Collaborate with operations, IT, and customers on solution design and rollout
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in engineering designs
• Document standard operating procedures and best practices
• Provide engineering support for new business launches and transitions
• Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership
