The Quality Engineer is responsible for numerous specialized tasks, including procedural maintenance of ISO/AS9100 quality documentation, includingFAA 14 CFR Part 21compliance.
General responsibilities will varywithintheassignedbusiness unit, with primary product support activitiesforcustomer flow down initiatives, problem resolution and assistance to production personnel.
Essential Functions:The position is responsible forqualityengineering an devaluation of manufacturing processto ensure they are performed correctly usingappropriatetools, materials and processes.
The Quality Engineer will direct communicationwith Customers and variousregulatory agencies. The QEwill bethefocal pointforschedulingany on-site qualityactivities with customers.
The Quality Engineer will be responsible for maintaining a large amount of quality system data, including operational performance,data and quality management system documents as needed.
The Quality Engineer should be able todevelop and maintain strong working relationships with our key customers and regulatoryfocals.
The Quality Engineer must be able to clearly communicate requirements, formulate an approach and effectively work with all parties involved to reach a workable solution within the framework of the related regulatory requirements to achieve a common goal.
Additional responsibilities includemanagingproduct or manufacturingrelated issues regarding a product line item,AmSafe employee training, participation in continuous improvementevents and other improvementprograms.

This position operates in a manufacturing environment.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to moving mechanical parts and equipment

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
This is a salaried, exempt from overtime, full-time position.
Regularly workin excess of40 hours per week.
Some travel should be expected for this position. A valid passport must be available or be able to be acquired.
RequiredEducation and Experience
- BS in an engineering / technical discipline preferred
- Background in an FAA Part 21 environment
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in amanufacturingquality engineering discipline.
- Experience in interpreting blueprints with application of assembly processesforelectro-mechanical components and final assemblies.
- Greenbelt or lean certification preferred
