Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise and support in materials and process engineering, emphasizing machining operations and processes
- Support new and existing aerospace gas turbine engine products used for propulsion and auxiliary power
- Support materials and processes involved in the design, manufacture, and machining of parts
- Interact regularly with internal and external machining suppliers to resolve issues
- Collaborate across Honeywell Aerospace engineering teams to create customer-focused solutions and systems
- Participate in all phases of product development
- Serve as a technical point of contact for less experienced engineers
- Liaise between machining suppliers and Honeywell Engineering, Quality, Supplier Development Engineers, and Integrated Supply Chain
- Report directly to the Senior Engineering Manager
- May occasionally lift 35 pounds in a single lift
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
- 4 or more years of experience in materials/process engineering with an emphasis on machining operations
- 2 or more years experience with aluminum, steel, titanium and nickel aerospace alloys
- Understanding and hands‑on experience in machining operations/processes, including grinding, milling, shot‑peening, EDM, controlled process machining, and non‑conventional machining
- Familiarity with industrial materials and processing specifications
- Familiarity with Nadcap and industry standards, requirements and approvals
- Capability to assess new suppliers and determine their strengths and weaknesses
- Experience conducting machining process audits
- Experience working with and developing machining suppliers
- Understanding engineering drawings and requirements
- Experience with Six Sigma, Lean and other process improvement tools
- Must be a U.S. Person under U.S. export control laws, or have the ability to obtain export authorization
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis
- Approximately 10–20% national and international travel
Demonstrates expertise in materials and process engineering with a strong focus on machining operations, including hands‑on experience with aerospace alloys and machining processes. Capable of collaborating across teams to develop customer‑focused solutions while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
