Aerospace Principal Engineer

Provides expert consultation in one or more areas for the design, development and implementation of technical products and systems. Recognized as technical leader and resource. Performs dynamic analysis using Nastran on large 3D FE models. May oversee the work of other design engineers. Must be a self-starter and take abstract ideas and translate into a plan. Works with other members of the engineering staff to ensure that assignments are completed in a timely manner.

Recommends alterations and enhancements to improve quality of products and/or procedures. Responsible for all internal activities and product development.

Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering and at least 8+ years of experience in the field or in a related area. Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May provide consultation on complex projects and is considered to be the top level contributor/specialist.

A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. May report to an executive or a manager.
