We are seeking a System Health Engineer III/Senior to join our asset management and maintenance support organization. This team is dedicated to applying maintenance best practices, leveraging asset analytics, and evaluating operational outcomes to maximize the useful life of critical equipment—both inside and outside the substation fence.
In this role, you’ll combine your technical expertise and analytical mindset to evaluate equipment health, identify performance issues, and develop strategies that enhance reliability and longevity. You’ll collaborate closely with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to make data-driven recommendations that optimize asset performance across our power system.
- Provides technical engineering, design, economic and analytical support to participate in the development of long-range system plans and conducting of engineering requests, proposals and presentations.
- Performs engineering tasks requiring skills and experience gained through application of engineering methods and analysis.
- Has increasing responsibility for technical decisions and interpretations. Provides technical guidance and leadership to others as needed.
- Should have a strong understanding of transmission engineering and maintenance, and asset management in the transmission space.
- May be subject to shift work.
- Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline or related applied science discipline
- Plus five (5) years working experience in Engineering-related positions.
- Approved Engineer degrees:
Materials Science/Metallurgy, Physics, Chemisty, Math, Nuclear, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Electronics, Computer Science, Environmental, Chemical, Architectural, Structural. (A four-year bachelor of Engineering Technology degree is not considered an automatic equivalent for a B.S. degree in Engineering. A review of the degree program curriculum must be completed by Engineering department management.
- A four year Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline or related applied science discipline (see approved list) from an ABET accredited institution
- plus eight (8) years working experience in Engineering-related positions.
- Approved degrees:
Materials Science/Metallurgy, Physics, Chemisty, Math, Nuclear, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Electronics, Computer Science, Environmental, Chemical, Architectural, Structural. (A four-year bachelor of Engineering Technology degree is not considered an automatic equivalent for a B.S. degree in Engineering. Qualifications:
- Knowledge of equipment maintenance and testing strategies in transmission and distribution equipment.
- Familiarity with strategic asset management.
- Problem analysis/resolution techniques.
- Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, practices, methods and safety standards in the area of applicable engineering discipline.
