Demand Planner

Role Overview

Store Associate:
Provide pet care and customer service in retail stores, Pet Smart service centers, grooming salons, and distribution centers.

• Assist pet parents with booking services such as Pets Hotel, Salon, and day stay services.
• Provide safety certification and use salon safety standards.
• Cross‑train across store departments, attend training workshops, and shadow leaders.
• Apply pet care procedures, evaluate pet health at arrival, and refer to veterinarians when necessary.
• Perform daily performance checks, engage in 1:1 feedback, and participate in routine process validations.
• Maintain store display standards and industry best practices for specialty pets.
• Use technology tools, manage multiple screens, and close/open resources during appointments.
• Deliver on the “Do Anything for Pets” pledge by ensuring pet safety and addressing any concerns.

• Must be 18 years or older (with variations by location).
• Age requirement does not apply in Montana or in other areas where law requires a different minimum.
• Background check completion required.
• For specific positions, relevant experience may be required; entry‑level training is provided.
• Strong customer service orientation, ability to follow safety protocols, and comfort with multiple software platforms.

Flexible shifts including early morning, evening, and weekend. Hours vary by location and department, with typical store open 9 a.m.–9 p.m.;
Pets Hotel and Grooming Salon often open 7 a.m.

All new associates receive safety certification and on‑job training. Salon associates undergo a four‑stage training program:
Apprentice, Grooming Academy, Groomer Trainee, and fully trained stylist.
