Event Production Project Manager — Live Events & AV Production

Centric Events | Phoenix, AZ (SR-51 & Greenway Rd)

Corporate Events Conferences Concerts Live Production

About the Role

Centric Events is hiring an experienced Event Production Project Manager to own live events and AV productions end-to-end — from sales handoff through load-out — for corporate conferences, general sessions, and live productions across Arizona and for our National Production Clients.

This is a senior, hands‑on production role. You'll own the plan, the budget, the crew, and the client relationship for your events, and be accountable for delivering flawless shows on time and on budget. You'll work with the Sales, Warehouse, Scheduling, and Field teams, and lead coordinators and crew, to make it happen.

This is not an entry‑level or career‑change role. We are looking specifically for people who have managed live events or AV productions and understand how shows come together behind the scenes. If your background is in production, we want to talk — if you are looking to break into the industry, this particular role won't be the right fit.

About Centric Events

Centric Events is Arizona's highest‑rated event production company, specializing in corporate events, conferences, and live productions where reliability, professionalism, and execution matter.

Our mission is to build and equip a team of next‑level professionals who flawlessly plan, prep, and execute events that win a client's business again and again.

We are a hands‑on, team‑oriented production company with high standards, clear expectations, and a long‑term mindset.

What You'll Be Responsible For Production Planning & Budgeting
  • Own events end‑to‑end from sales handoff to load‑out: plan, schedule, gear list, labor, logistics, and budget
  • Build and manage production schedules, timelines, and gear and labor plans (we run on Odoo)
  • Own the event P&L — build the budget, manage costs, and hit margin targets
Client & Crew Leadership
  • Be the client's main point of contact through planning and on show days; manage scope, change orders, and expectations
  • Lead crews, coordinators, and sub‑rentals; set roles, call times, and truck and logistics plans
  • Direct load‑in, show, and strike, and make the calls when plans change on‑site
Execution & Accountability
  • Own show quality and the client experience from doors to strike
  • Run multiple concurrent productions without dropping details
  • Close out events: reconcile costs, capture lessons learned, and hand off to invoicing

This is a hands‑on role. Even as the PM, you're on‑site and in the work — everyone at Centric contributes to setup and teardown.

What Success Looks Like
  • Events are delivered flawlessly, on time, and on budget
  • Clients trust you and bring their business back
  • Crews are well‑led, clearly briefed, and set up to succeed
  • Margins hit target and the event P&L is clean
  • Problems are anticipated and solved before they ever reach the client
Schedule Expectations
  • Production schedule with evenings, weekends, and travel as events require
  • You're on‑site for your shows, not just in the office
Qualifications Required
  • 5+ years managing live events or AV productions (corporate conferences and general sessions strongly preferred)
  • Proven ownership of event budgets or P&L and of multiple concurrent productions
  • Deep understanding of production workflows — you read production schedules, stage plots, gear lists, and signal flow fluently
  • Experience leading crews and coordinating vendors, sub‑rentals, and logistics
  • Strong client‑facing communication and calm, decisive leadership under pressure
  • You come from the live event or AV production industry — this is not a role we train from scratch
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Preferred
  • Experience with rental inventory and project management software (Odoo, Asana, or similar)
  • CTS, PMP, or similar certification
  • Background as an A1, V1, LD, or senior technician who moved into management
  • Existing Valley venue and vendor relationships
Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $65,000 – $85,000 / year (Commensurate with production experience, technical depth, and demonstrated P&L leadership)

Growth Path: Clear opportunities for advancement
