SUMMARY
The Loan Servicing Specialist is responsible for end-to-end loan boarding, payment processing, loan servicing maintenance, and accurate document indexing to ensure the Bank’s loan portfolio is serviced timely, accurately, and in compliance with internal procedures and applicable regulatory/SBA requirements. This role supports daily participation activity, servicing updates in Horizon, construction and SBA disbursements, monthly servicing reconciliations, and ongoing documentation and covenant tracking in Abrigo.
RESPONSIBILITIES1. Loan Boarding and System Maintenance (Horizon)
- Book all new loans in Horizon, ensuring accurate setup of loan terms, payment schedules, collateral, fees, and servicing parameters.
- Book SBA note sales in Horizon and ensure system records reflect the correct loan status and investor/ownership details.
- Process and book modifications, changes in terms, renewals, and other servicing events in Horizon, maintaining complete and accurate loan histories.
- Perform all servicing maintenance in Horizon as needed (rate changes, payment changes, extensions, principal adjustments, payoff processing support, and general loan maintenance updates).
- Process daily participation payment activity for lead bank payments received by Integro for application to loans, ensuring payments are applied correctly and timely.
- Process daily participation payment activity for Integro Bank payments wired to participation banks, ensuring accuracy of amounts, timing, and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external participation banks to resolve discrepancies, payment questions, and exceptions quickly and professionally.
- Balance and reconcile bank control deposit accounts related to loan servicing activity; research and resolve outstanding items and discrepancies.
- Maintain clear audit trails and supporting documentation for reconciliations and adjustments.
- Assist with SBA 1502 entries to the designated spreadsheet throughout the month so month-end activities focus primarily on review and validation prior to submission.
- Support monthly servicing processes by verifying data completeness and escalating exceptions for resolution.
- Process all construction draws for construction loans, ensuring draw requests are complete, approved, and properly documented prior to disbursement.
- Process SBA funding/disbursements for M&E, F&F, and inventory draws for all SBA loans, ensuring requests align with approved use of proceeds and required documentation standards.
- Coordinate with borrowers, relationship teams, and operations to obtain missing documentation and meet funding timelines.
- Upload and index all signed documents for new loans in Abrigo, ensuring completeness, correct naming conventions, and proper filing/indexing for retrieval and audit readiness.
- Create ticklers/covenants for new loans in Abrigo, including required reporting items, due dates, and monitoring requirements.
- Maintain servicing documentation standards and ensure files are kept current following modifications, renewals, and other servicing events.
- 2+ years of experience in loan operations, loan servicing, payment processing, or related bank back‑office functions.
- Working knowledge of commercial loan servicing workflows (boarding, payments, maintenance, documentation, and reconciliations).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume, deadline-driven daily processing.
- Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets for tracking, validating, and reconciling data.
- Ability to communicate clearly with internal teams and external bank partners, and to escalation issues appropriately.
- Prior experience with participation loan servicing and wire/payment workflows.
- Familiarity with SBA servicing processes, including SBA 1502 reporting and SBA disbursement requirements.
- Experience using Horizon and/or Abrigo (or similar core/servicing and document management systems).
- Experience supporting construction draw administration and draw documentation standards.
- Accuracy and data integrity focus (systems, spreadsheets, and documentation).
- Strong organizational skills and follow-through.
- Ability to prioritize daily time-sensitive work while managing longer-cycle tasks (draws, boarding, month-end support).
- Problem-solving mindset for exception handling and reconciliation items.
- Compliance-minded approach and comfort working within defined procedures.
- Consistently meet daily processing timelines for participation payments and servicing needs.
- Maintain audit-ready loan files and clear documentation trails in Abrigo.
