We are a growing, employee-owned contractor seeking an Assistant Controller to support day-to-day financial operations and play a key role in company-wide systems and process improvement. This position offers hands‑on involvement with executive leadership and a realistic path to a future Controller role. The ideal candidate will be skilled in Viewpoint Vista, have construction experience, and be able to lead with our implementation.

Job Details What You’ll Do
  • Lead ERP implementation tasks, including chart of accounts, master file setup, workflow documentation, and training for field and office teams
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP financial reporting
  • Ensure proper job cost coding across labor, equipment, and project transactions
  • Assist with Work‑in‑Progress (WIP) schedules and revenue recognition
  • Work with operations to monitor project performance, cash flow, and cost trends
  • Provide AP/AR support and assist with payroll compliance (prevailing wage, certified payroll, union reporting)
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives and cross‑department collaboration
What You Bring
  • 5+ years using Viewpoint Vista (ERP experience is a MUST)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Strong understanding of construction accounting fundamentals: job cost, WIP, revenue recognition
  • Advanced Excel skills and comfort with financial reporting tools
  • Ability to work with field teams and internal stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Experience creating SOPs, process documentation, or training a plus
