Payroll & Equity Operations Manager

We’re partnering with a high-growth, publicly traded investment firm to identify a Payroll & Equity Operations Manager who will lead complex U.S. payroll operations while overseeing equity-related payroll activities.

This role is ideal for a payroll leader who thrives in fast-paced, performance-driven environments and has experience handling stock compensation events such as RSU vesting, option exercises, or dividend payments.

• Lead full-cycle, multi-state payroll processing for U.S. employees
• Manage payroll-related compliance, tax reporting, audits, and reconciliations
• Process and oversee equity compensation payroll events (RSUs, stock options, ESPP, dividend equivalents)
• Partner closely with Finance, HR, and external brokers to ensure accurate taxation and reporting of stock transactions
• Ensure SOX compliance and maintain strong internal controls
• Drive process improvements and system enhancements
• Support year-end reporting (W-2, equity reporting, etc.)

• 7+ years of progressive payroll experience
• Experience processing payroll in a public company or SOX-regulated environment
• Exposure to stock compensation events (RSUs, vesting, option exercises, dividend payments preferred)
• Strong understanding of payroll tax compliance and multi-state regulations
• Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Workday, Ceridian, or similar
• High attention to detail and ability to operate independently

• CPP certification
• Experience partnering with equity brokers (Fidelity, Morgan Stanley, E

• Background in financial services, investment, or public accounting environments
