Interim Director of Finance

Vaco has partnered with a mission‑driven, nonprofit organization that is in search of an experienced Interim Director of Finance to support finance operations during a leadership transition. This role will provide hands‑on accounting and finance leadership. The ideal candidate will bring strong nonprofit expertise and the ability to lead the team in a hybrid environment.

• Pay Rate: $60 - $75 per hour, DOE
• Project Duration: 3 months (potential contract‑to‑hire)

• Oversee all U.S. finance and accounting operations, including general ledger accounting, payroll, treasury, and financial reporting.
• Lead and manage a team of accountants across the U.S.
• Partner closely with leadership on financial reporting, compliance, and U.S. GAAP adherence.
• Ensure compliance with donor restrictions, grants, and U.S. government funding requirements.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA license strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
• Nonprofit experience strongly preferred.
