Corporate Controller

I'm partnering with a well-established nonprofit organization on a search for a Controller to join their finance leadership team. This is a high-visibility role.

This organization has grown through multiple mergers in recent years, most recently in late 2024, which significantly expanded its grant funding and federal compliance footprint. The Controller will oversee general accounting (AP/AR), purchasing and contract management, grant accounting, and serve as the primary point of contact for external audits, including a Single Audit. You'll also get exposure to merger integration accounting and New Markets Tax Credit reporting, working across multiple legal entities with different fiscal year structures.

• Grants accounting and Single Audit experience (top priority)
• CPA or MBA
• Strong technical accounting background with experience at a $200M+ organization
• Multi-entity accounting experience
• A leader who has managed accounting staff and can hold a team accountable
• A communication-focused leader who works across departments and leadership levels, not a behind-the-scenes-only accountant
• Bonus points for Workday ERP, merger accounting, or charter school/education accounting experience
