Financial Manager
The Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) will lead the enterprise-wide planning, forecasting, and performance management processes for Sprouts Farmers Market and serve as a key strategic partner to the executive leadership team. This role will oversee the FP&A organization, drive data‑driven decision making, and help shape the company’s long‑term financial strategy in support of our growth and profitability objectives.
Overview Of Responsibilities- Lead the company’s annual operating plan, quarterly forecast cycles, and long‑range financial planning, ensuring alignment with strategic and operational priorities.
- Develop robust financial models, scenario analyses, and sensitivity analyses to evaluate strategic initiatives, capital investments, and key business decisions.
- Translate business strategies and operational drivers into clear financial outcomes, KPIs, and targets for leadership and functional teams.
- Own enterprise P&L consolidation, financial performance reporting, and variance analysis across sales, gross margin, labor, SG&A, and capital.
- Provide timely, actionable insights into trends, risks, and opportunities, including recommendations to improve profitability, cash flow, and return on investment.
- Enhance management reporting capabilities, including store, region, banner, and function‑level dashboards and Board materials.
- Serve as a trusted thought partner to the CFO, SVP Finance and executive leadership team, supporting decisions related to merchandising, operations, real‑estate, supply chain, and corporate functions.
- Partner closely with Operations, Merchandising, Supply Chain, and other teams to understand key business drivers and translate them into financial implications and levers.
- Lead, develop, and mentor a high‑performing FP&A team, fostering a culture of analytical rigor, curiosity, accountability, and business partnership.
- Build scalable FP&A processes, tools, and systems to support a growing retail footprint, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analytics infrastructure.
- Lead the preparation of financial materials and insights for executive leadership meetings, Board of Directors meetings, and other key forums.
- Communicate complex financial information clearly and succinctly to both financial and non‑financial audiences, highlighting implications and recommended actions.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required; MBA preferred.
- 12+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or related roles, with significant experience in a multi‑unit retail, grocery, or consumer‑facing environment strongly preferred.
- 7+ years of leadership experience managing and developing FP&A teams in a complex, growth‑oriented organization.
- Strategic, hands‑on leader who can operate at both executive and detailed analytical levels.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and build relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Proven track record of driving operational and financial performance improvements through data‑driven insights and partnership.
