Portfolio Manager Senior - Commercial

Responsibilities

• Partner with loan officers to administer the management of assigned commercial banking relationships.
• Perform credit underwriting duties for existing and prospective client relationships, including detailed credit analysis to determine borrower/guarantor repayment capacity.
• Provide loan structuring recommendations and prepare credit packages for credit committee approval (new business and reaffirmations).
• Prepare underwriting documents, including collateral analysis on multiple asset classes and develop pricing and risk rating models suitable for each credit request.
• Continuously monitor borrowing base reports and covenant compliance, providing regular reporting to loan officers.
• Maintain tracking of documentation exceptions, past dues, field exams, borrowing base reports, and covenant exceptions.
• Recognize and manage early warning signs for the portfolio on a recurring basis, analyzing borrower financial performance upon receipt of reporting requirements (monthly, quarterly, or annually).
• Fully analyze and confirm borrowing base and financial covenant compliance, evaluate payment performance benchmarks, and perform regular financial reviews.
• Provide recurring customer service to existing and prospective clients, including direct contact through joint sales calls with loan officers or direct correspondence.
• Execute various projects and tasks as needed, emphasizing consistent compliance with UMB TUCE.
• File all required reports and resolve related issues in a timely and efficient manner.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 5+ years commercial banking experience, including credit underwriting.
• Current valid driver’s license.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Expertise in identifying and processing maturing loans, line renewals, term loan extensions, restructuring, approval processes, and term changes.
• Comprehensive understanding of credit underwriting principles and bank operations.
• Ability to interpret policies, procedures, loan contracts, credit reports, financial statements, and loan documents.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Self‑starter who shows initiative and can transfer knowledge to less experienced peers.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and commercial lending software.

• Compensation ranges are based on geographic location:
• California, Washington DC, New Jersey, and New York: $120,750 - $189,000
• Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin: $110,250 - $173,030
• All other states: $99,750 - $157,060
