VP/Controller | Phoenix, AZ (Onsite)
Vaco is partnering with a Phoenix-based organization to hire a VP/Controller on a direct-hire basis. This is a high-impact opportunity for a turnaround-oriented finance leader to play a critical role in stabilizing accounting operations and leading a financial systems transformation that will modernize billing, reporting, and internal controls. This position is ideal for a hands‑on leader who thrives in dynamic environments and is motivated by driving operational improvement, building structure, and restoring financial discipline.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the stabilization of accounting operations while overseeing the transition to a new ERP platform, enhancing automation, reporting capabilities, and internal controls
- Drive the elimination of billing backlogs and implement disciplined, efficient invoicing processes aligned with operational workflows and system capabilities
- Strengthen cash flow and vendor management by improving coordination across billing, receivables, collections, and payables, while increasing financial visibility and process reliability
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
- CPA strongly preferred
- 10+ years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience
- 6+ years of experience as a Controller or in an equivalent senior accounting leadership role
- Industry experience in construction, engineering, or field services required in order to be considered
- Ability to work onsite in Phoenix, AZ, Monday through Friday
- Salary $185k-$200k plus bonus
