Job Description Since 1987, the team at Cafe Valley has produced muffins, bundt cakes, ring cakes, loaf cakes, danishes, turnovers, croissants, and our signature Cafe Bites for our customers throughout the United States and across the world. Demand for our products have grown to the extent that our state-of-the-art, Phoenix, AZ production facility built in 2011 was joined by our Marion, IN production facility in 2014.

Through innovative bakery techniques and unique recipes, we continue to delight one bite at a time.

The Senior Cost Accountant is responsible for accurately capturing, reporting, and analyzing production costs of the facility including product costing, manufacturing variance analysis, and inventory valuation. You will need to have a good foundation in cost accounting and a passion for data.

Responsibilities Close production jobs and on a daily basis

Meet with department managers daily to review jobs and analyze cost variance

Send out the Management Dashboard to the leadership team on a weekly basis

Work with all department managers to ensure all production costs are being fully captured and accurately reported in financials

Perform month end close activities (entries & analysis) related to COGS and inventory

Attend meetings with operations management, present financial information and answer questions

Ensure validity and accuracy of the ERP system through analysis, audit, and coordination with inventory control, production and work order processing

Perform cost analysis as it may relate to inventory, labor, etc. and identify areas for cost improvement

Spend time on the production floor at both plants to help with operational cost savings projects

Research transactions to ensure proper reporting

Maintain requisition approval system

Other duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications 5 years of cost accounting experience in manufacturing or 7+ years in a closely related fieldA bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field of study

Excellent computer skills, experienced with ERP and inventory management systems

Extremely strong Excel skills

Advanced knowledge of cost accounting methodologies and practices

Problem solver with demonstrated ability to streamline and automate complex processes

Pay: $87,299.85 - $90,751.28 per year
