The Company is seeking a hands‑on, results‑driven Controller to assume and optimize a portfolio of essential accounting duties, transform and professionalize the finance function, and become an invaluable partner to ownership and the executive team in executing key strategic and value‑creation initiatives.

The Role

The Controller reports directly to the CFO and works closely with senior operating leadership. A successful candidate will have opportunities to take on duties that are crucial to developing the skills needed to develop into a private equity‑backed CFO. The Controller will oversee the following: monthly financial close, order‑to‑cash (billing, work‑in‑process, and collections), treasury, accounts payable, payroll, time and expenses, the annual GAAP audit, tax filings (federal, state, sales, etc.),

and other administrative functions including but not limited to insurance, surety/bonding, and risk management.

The initial objectives will be: to establish a reliable, standardized monthly close and reporting cadence; improve AR collections and accelerate billing/WIP; instill SG&A and cost discipline; and solve known pain points across the order‑to‑cash and procure‑to‑pay cycles. They will also seek to improve efficiency immediately by streamlining processes, consolidating location accounting functions, and top‑grading talent and/or coaching and mentoring the existing team.

After achieving the initial goals, a successful candidate will be positioned to lead career‑enriching strategic work streams, such as implementing best‑in‑class technology and processes into the finance function, supporting capital and financing initiatives, and building and expanding their FP&A skill set (budgeting, forecasting, and decision support). This role is based in Phoenix, AZ and is primarily on‑site, with regular collaboration alongside operations and field teams;

occasional work‑from‑home days will be permitted.
