Real Estateloanportfolio. The team consists of Portfolio Managers, Underwriters,and Relationship Managers. This team manages Commercial Real Estatethroughout its life – developing meaningful connections with management of the companies they serve.
Thevast majority of Commercial Real Estate loans include construction and refinancing of multi-family, office and industrial projects.
Always mindful of the changes in the Commercial Real Estateindustry, etc., over time that might create a change in their financial service needs. The team takes great pride in seeing a Commercial Real Estate loan project through it’s initial planning stage to completion.
As the Sr. Commercial Real Estate Officer , youwillbe engaged in non-owner-occupied commercial real estate (“CRE”) lending including construction loans, interim loans, permanent loans, andrefinancing ofreal estate loans.
Production goals for both new loan originations and deposits will be assigned.
- Serve as an expert on CRE loans for the market.
- Generate new CRE loan and cross-sell opportunities with new and existing clients as well as underwrite the collateral property, market and guarantor; structure the loan; prepare the loan approval package; present the request to loan committee for consideration; and negotiate and document the loan in conjunction with the assigned Loan Closing Coordinator and outside legal counsel (as applicable).
- Oversight and mentoring of junior CRE lender(s) in the market, which may include providing training as needed as well asparticipatingin discussionsretheir loan opportunities and relationships, etc.
- Oversight of a portfolio of CRE loans, which includes the following responsibilities:
- In conjunction with the Construction Loan Disbursement Group, review monthly construction loan draw requests to ensure constructionremainson budget and on schedule.
- In conjunction with the assigned REG Portfolio Manager,monitor the collateral property performance to ensure absorption, operating performance,etcmeet covenant requirements and are consistent with the approval and appraisal assumptions.
- In conjunction with the assigned REG Portfolio Manager, prepare renewals, modifications (as applicable) and annual reviews of the loans.
- In conjunction with the assigned REG Portfolio Manager, perform regular reviews of property and guarantor financialconditionto ensure the highest credit quality as well as the continued appropriateness of the risk rating.
Recommend risk rating adjustments as needed. - Some travel to California and / or New Mexico may be necessary.
- Represent UMB as the senior CRElender inthe market
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in related field
- 7+ years Commercial Real Estate lending and underwriting experience
- Demonstrates expert knowledge of CRE credit and underwriting
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail
- Demonstrates strong knowledge of bank products, services, and bank operations
- Demonstrates ability to be self-starter and show initiative
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
- Demonstrates ability to prospect and network at various levels within the company
- Demonstrates strong connectivity with local commercial real estate development network
- Demonstrates ability to manage time and projects effectively
- Demonstratesproficiencyin Word, Excel, Power Point
Compensation Range:
$69,230.00 - $
