Job DescriptionThe Relationship Manager II – Commercial Banking is primarily responsible for delivery of various financial products and the servicing of commercial loans to middle‑market privately owned businesses. This position requires strong knowledge of the commercial underwriting approval processes, and full knowledge of Wealth Management products, Treasury Services, deposit offerings and other bank services. The role includes managing portfolios that contain larger, more profitable customer relationships.
Responsibilities- Prospect, network, develop new business and cross‑sell services.
- Participate in community and professional activities to enhance the company's image and expand the network of business contacts for new business development.
- Partner with credit on approval, documentation and booking processes; analyze and evaluate credit requests, write loan commitments, and recommend appropriate risk rating and issue declinations.
- Monitor and manage existing credit relationships, including renewal, detailed analysis of current financial statements and collateral valuations, cash‑flow analysis, managing delinquencies, and documenting exceptions.
- Compile reporting to monitor asset quality and compliance with policy/regulation, and determine appropriate action for wire transfers.
- Completion of a Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years of experience in a commercial lending environment, or 9–11 years of equivalent experience.
- Extensive knowledge of commercial lending practices, loan documentation and servicing requirements.
- Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Demonstrated capacity to sell financial products and services.
- Advanced understanding of credit underwriting, documentation, loan policy and regulations.
- Expertise in financial analysis, including ratio, trend analysis and projections.
- Specialized knowledge of specific markets to serve defined territories.
- Thorough knowledge of Wealth Management and Treasury Services products.
- Ability to sell the entirety of the bank’s products.
- Excellent communication skills for persuasive oral and written reporting and presentations.
- Strong PC skills including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
