Fiscal Monitor
The Fiscal Monitor is responsible for assisting the Financial Manager with all DERS sub-recipient fiscal monitors, ensuring fiscal compliance per grant specific requirements, uniform guidance and federal regulations. The FM is responsible for providing extensive technical assistance to sub-recipients, internal staff and other stakeholders. The FM will assist with the annual allocation of funds to sub-recipients and assist during Federal and State audits.
As part of the fiscal compliance team will assist in the development of a standardized risk assessment tool and evaluate subrecipient risk. Additional daily tasks will include reviewing budgets, preparing federal and other financial analysis reports. The successful candidate will be adept at interpreting federal and state regulations, analyzing complex financial data using automated financial systems and have outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
The FM must be highly self-motivated, possess excellent time management skills and have the ability to multi-task and balance priorities. This position requires travel to various locations within the State of Arizona to conduct fiscal monitors and assist the fiscal teams of grant subrecipients, but the driving will be coordinated with team and not in personal vehicles. Position is primarily remote with a few days in office a month.
Tentative start date will be dependent upon interviews conducted, onboarding completed, and the state agency issuing a PO. Hire Right must be used for Background Checks and Drug Screenings Local Only Candidates

1-2 years of experience in Financial, budget, accounting or audit work Proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Access) High school diploma or GED
Preferred SkillsBachelor degree in accounting. finance, statistics, economics or business administration from an accredited college or university OR a master's degree in business or public administration from an accredited college or university is preferred.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience- 1-2 years of experience in Financial, budget, accounting or audit work
- Proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Access)
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor degree in accounting. finance, statistics, economics or business administration from an accredited college or university OR a master's degree in business or public administration from an accredited college or university is preferred.
Compensation: $26.00 per hour
