Retirement- Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS)
- Note that enrollment eligibility will become effective after 27 weeks of employment
- The position requires extensive knowledge of juvenile delinquency and the juvenile justice system, including the federal JJDP Act and relevant state laws, regulations, and trends at the local, state, and federal levels
- Self‑motivated and able to work independently and within a team, demonstrating the ability to organize and prioritize work assignments as they arise
- Possesses the ability to communicate effectively in a culturally appropriate manner and exhibits the skills to implement culturally competent service
- Demonstrates dedication to working closely and cooperatively with diverse staff, commissions, youth, families, and law enforcement agencies
- Communicates clearly and accurately, both verbally and in writing, and can effectively present information to senior management and external stakeholders
- Must be able to review and evaluate juvenile justice system practices analytically and develop improvement plans
- Must possess an intermediate‑level knowledge of Google Drive/Suite, Excel, and Word programs
- Demonstrates strong ethical professional standards and embraces a multicultural perspective
- Possesses strong project management skills and is detail‑oriented
- Bachelor’s (BA or BS) degree in criminal justice or a related field
