Job Location:

Division of Employment and Rehabilitation Services (DERS), Quality Assurance and Integrity Administration (QAIA), 1789 West Jefferson Street, Phoenix, Arizona 85007. This position may offer the ability to work remotely within Arizona based upon the department's business needs and the continual meeting of expected performance measures.
Grade: 19
Salary: $22.2090 hourly ($46,194.72 annually)

Job Summary

DES is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Auditor 2 with the Quality Assurance and Integrity Administration (QAIA).

This position is responsible for the completion, monitoring and analysis of DERS case audits, with a focus on actions which may include WIOA, TAA, SCSEP, Jobs, SNAP, and CAN compliance.

Travel will be required for State business. Employees operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess a current, valid driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver‑license record checks. Drivers on State business are required to maintain acceptable driving records, complete required training, and keep statutory liability insurance as required by Arizona Administrative Code. Remote work is available within Arizona unless otherwise authorized.

Job Duties
  • Conduct and review case audit results, develop reports, and monitor progress.
  • Offer suggestions and assist in identifying actions that contribute to strategic and operational objectives related to State, Federal, and policy regulation compliance.
  • Prepare written documents and reports regarding audits, applying judgment and discretion; issue findings to affected personnel or management.
  • Establish and maintain an accountability system to track progress on corrective measures and/or monitoring schedules.
  • Develop detailed spreadsheets, charts, and databases to demonstrate the basis for findings and/or recommendations.
  • Examine and analyze statistical data, work procedures, and methods, making recommendations for enhancement.
  • Extract case data information from automated systems to obtain sample information; enter results as necessary.
  • Travel as necessary to compile and assess information.
  • Prepare for and participate in Fair Hearings.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs)
  • Knowledge of data gathering, auditing methods, procedures, report preparation, and summarization.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State rules and regulations governing federally funded programs.
  • Knowledge of computer technology and software programs.
  • Skills in written and oral communication to outline audit results.
  • Skills in producing statistical and other reports; detail oriented.
  • Skills in using automated programs for research, analysis, and work management.
  • Ability to summarize and analyze large amounts of information and data, identifying trends and presenting quantitative and/or qualitative information with recommendations.
  • Ability to compose correspondence and develop audit reports requiring discretion and judgment; responding to inquiries, presenting or requesting information.
  • Ability to provide advice, training, and guidance on complex issues.
Selective Preference(s)
  • Federal or State Auditing experience.
  • Data analysis and compilation experience.
Pre-Employment Requirements
