Position: ACJIS COMP SPEC/INSTRUCTOR

DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY The Department of Public Safety’s mission is to provide public safety to the state of Arizona.

Job Summary

Salary: $52,014.14 - $65,980.93. To apply, you must go onto the DPS website. The Arizona Department of Public Safety is looking for motivated professionals to work in our Access Integrity Unit with the Arizona Criminal Justice Information System (ACJIS). The ACJIS Compliance Specialist/Instructor is responsible for administrative work of average difficulty in ensuring compliance with federal and state mandates pertaining to the use of the ACJIS.

If assigned as an ACJIS Compliance Specialist, the employee is responsible for performing statewide operations audits, criminal history reporting reviews, security compliance inspections and coordinating user agency network access pertaining to ACJIS. If assigned as an ACJIS Instructor, the employee is responsible for the instruction, coordination, execution and evaluation of statewide training programs. Performs related duties as assigned. This recruitment will be used to establish an 18-month eligibility list to fill current and future vacancies over the life of the list.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires four (4) years of administrative support, research or analytical experience, one (1) of which must be in computer-based confidential databases or training, or any combination of education and administrative support, research or analytical experience including one (1) year in computer-based confidential databases or training to total four (4) years. Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver license. Statewide travel is required to perform certain work functions.

NOTE:

One year of work experience is equivalent to thirty (30) semester hours of coursework from an accredited college or university.

WORKING CONDITIONS/

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Office setting.

Progression to the next step requires an overall performance rating of at least "Standard" in the last 12 months.
