What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
  • Review technical reports, surveys, and data recovery work plans for adequacy and compliance
  • Ensure compliance with cultural resource laws and regulations for projects on State Trust land
  • Coordinate with state and federal agencies, local governments, and tribes on preservation issues
  • Prepare correspondence for consultation with various agencies
  • Conduct research and complete technical reviews of archaeological documents
What is Required (Qualifications)
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Anthropology, Archaeology, History, or a minimum of 2 years of related professional experience
  • Current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment
  • Knowledge of the State Historic Preservation Act and related cultural resource laws
  • Strong communication skills for interaction with agencies and the public
  • Ability to analyze and interpret archaeological data effectively
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Experience in Southwestern archaeology or historic preservation
  • Familiarity with technical programs such as ArcGIS and AZSITE
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Previous experience conducting cultural resource compliance reviews
