Account Associate— Public Affairs, Public Relations, and Government Affairs
Location:
Phoenix, Arizona
LS2group is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Account Associate to join our growing team. This is a full-time position supporting all facets of our client work across public affairs, government relations, and public relations campaigns.
Ideal candidates will have professional experience related to public policy, political campaigns, legislative affairs, public relations, or media relations. We are looking for individuals who understand the importance of client service, thrive under deadlines, and are excited to grow their careers in public affairs and communications.
This is a work-from-home position, but the applicant must be based in the Phoenix area.

Key Responsibilities- Support day-to-day activities for multiple client accounts.
- Draft client-facing materials, including media pitches, press releases, op-eds, research reports, and legislative summaries.
- Monitor media coverage and compile comprehensive clip reports.
- Assist with grassroots and coalition-building efforts.
- Conduct in-depth research on public policy issues, legislative developments, and stakeholder landscapes.
- Attend and take notes on client meetings, internal brainstorms, and external events.
- Maintain organized trackers, reports, and project documentation.
- Ensure high-quality, on-time delivery of all client materials.
- Collaborate with team members to develop and execute strategic communications plans.
- Actively contribute to a positive, proactive team environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, political science, public affairs, journalism, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of experience in public policy, political campaigns, legislative affairs, public relations, or communications.
- Exceptional writing, research, and organizational skills.
- Strong understanding of public policy, government processes, and/or media relations.
- Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and professional communication skills.
- Dependable, adaptable, and enthusiastic team player with a strong work ethic.
- Experience working with local or state-level elected officials, political organizations, advocacy groups, or PR agencies.
- Knowledge of the political and media landscape.
- Media relations experience, including pitching stories and building relationships with reporters.
- Familiarity with media monitoring tools and reporting.
