Job Summary

The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking a driven leader to join our Community Reentry team as the Reentry Coordinator. This position provides management of general reentry services to inmates, manages ADCRR’s reentry-related programs and services to prisons and reentry centers statewide, and maintains the Reentry Resource database. Instructs correctional staff in best case management practices and delivery, recommends revisions to reentry-related policies, identifies release needs of offenders, and seeks avenues to meet these needs from both public and private sectors.

In addition, this position assists Correctional Officer IIIs and Community Supervision Officers in identifying resources for particularly hard-to-place offenders.

Job Duties
  • Provides overall management of reentry-related services and activities provided by prisons and community staff statewide
  • Meets with community stakeholders, non-profit organizations and faith-based communities to educate them on released offender needs
  • Assists entities with developing and implementing programming necessary for community reentry
  • Attends community-based conferences and planning meetings
  • Ensures reentry services are developed and provided by ADCRR staff to create the best possible transition outcomes for inmates and offenders
  • Conducts reentry-specific information sessions and classes with inmates
  • Consults with ADCRR staff and inmate family members regarding difficult placement cases and makes referrals to appropriate community services and placements
  • Conducts trainings and mentors staff under supervision regarding release planning and general case management strategies
  • Identifies resources and updates the Reentry Resource Center
  • Creates and distributes monthly newsletters to ADCRR staff highlighting available resources in the community
  • Drives on State business
  • Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs) Knowledge of:
  • Concepts and practices of Correctional and Community Reentry Services, criminal thinking self-improvement programs, community corrections supervision and programming, and prison operations
  • Research related to inmate programming and correctional operations
  • Research and statistical concepts to comprehend and develop reports and statistical models in conjunction with the Research department
  • Project management techniques to organize and manage initiatives

Selective Preference(s)
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a related field
  • Two (2) years of experience in reentry services and correctional community program delivery
