Candidates will be compensated at a rate of $26.50 per hour. Placement at a higher salary rate within the range may be considered depending on prior comparable, directly related, equivalent experience.
This position is non-exempt under the FLSA.

110 Adult Probation About the Position Surveillance Officers provide surveillance and supportive casework services to justice involved individuals at the direction of the Superior Court under the provisions of evidence-based practices and consistent with the Arizona Code of Judicial Administration. The duties of a surveillance officer include monitoring the assigned probationers, and meeting with probationers in their homes or at their places of work.
Surveillance officers may perform searches and make arrests. Surveillance officers coach individuals under their supervision, teach problem-solving skills, and foster professional relationships that help to reduce recidivism. Surveillance officers implement the use of risk-reduction strategies and other evidence-based practices in their supervision to encourage long-term, positive behavioral change.
This position is considered safety sensitive. Work assignments and locations vary throughout the County. Assignments will be made based upon the needs of the Department. Work schedule will vary and may consist of nights/weekends. Surveillance Officers participate in the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System (PSPRS).Candidates will be required to have a complete a pre-employment background/reference check, polygraph, and psychological examination.

Education:
High School diploma or GED
Experience:
Two (2) years of case management experience, probation experience, court experience, direct work with justice-involved individuals, direct work with Seriously Mentally Ill (SMI) populations, direct work in a behavioral health setting, or public safety experience. We define public safety experience as military experience, law enforcement officer, corrections officer, EMT, firefighter, or security positions for a Federal, State, County, or local government.

Associate degree or the completion of sixty (60) credit hours from an academically accredited college or university accredited through the Council for Higher Education (CHEA) or the U.S. Department of Education (USDE).Other combinations of education and experience may be considered in substitution for the minimum qualifications.
