About the Role
Sun Soft Online is recruiting two Public Assistance Specialists for a state emergency management agency. You will support financial and program oversight of federal disaster-recovery grants: assessing damage to public infrastructure after disasters, working directly with cities, counties, and public entities to file assistance applications, preparing damage assessments and project worksheets against state and federal eligibility criteria, inspecting completed repair work, and reviewing cost documentation.
The role includes training and presenting on the Public Assistance program, and being trained for Emergency Operations Center duty during disaster activations (24/7 recall during activations is part of the role).
Required: 3 years of customer/client service AND account management experience, this is a hard requirement.
Preferred: Associate's degree or higher; instructor/teaching credentials or experience training adult audiences; public speaking or workshop facilitation; any prior Public Assistance, FEMA, or disaster-recovery grant experience.
