The CORE Institute delivers integrated, comprehensive musculoskeletal and neurological care. The organization continues to be a leader in payer‑reform initiatives and drives value and quality through systems‑based programs. As the institute expands, it is seeking pool anesthesia technicians/ORAs for the operating room.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Performs room turnover between cases efficiently, following Universal Blood and Body Fluid (UBBF) precautions and using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Performs terminal cleaning of OR suites on a rotational schedule using PPE and UBBF guidelines.
- Maintains cleanliness, orderliness, and appearance of substerile rooms and scrub sink areas.
- Monitors the surgery schedule and tracks par levels in supply and patient care areas.
- Communicates with Materials Management/Buyer regarding supply needs and assists with restocking.
- Practices safe working methods and universal precautions, utilizing PPE to protect self and others.
- Handles hazardous material in a manner that protects self and coworkers.
- Follows the principles of aseptic technique and stays clear of the sterile field when performing job functions.
- Dons appropriate surgical attire, including scrubs, hair covering, and masks, within semi‑restricted and restricted OR areas.
- Demonstrates an understanding of traffic patterns within the OR.
- Promotes cost containment by using equipment and supplies efficiently.
- Assists in safe transfer and transport of patients using proper body mechanics.
- Assists with patient positioning under the direction of an RN or physician.
- Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Provides anesthesiologist support as a physician extender and part of the patient care team.
- Is familiar with anesthesia machines and maintains them in proper working order.
- Performs any other duties assigned.
- Demonstrates current competencies for the position.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- One year of environmental services (EVS) experience required.
- Healthcare industry experience preferred.
- Knowledge of floor cleaning equipment is helpful.
- Good organizational skills.
- Pleasant disposition.
- Professional demeanor in patient communications.
- Ability to follow product use instructions.
- Standing and walking for long periods; exposure to environmental elements and cleaning product odors.
- Standing and walking for extended periods; requires lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.
- Read and sign HOPCo Mission, Vision, and Values.
- OSHA training required, including Safety Training.
