Overview

Bio Life Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda, seeks a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. The role reports to the Plasma Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) for operational guidance and to the Center Physician for medical issues. The Medical Support Specialist will be familiar with plasma collection regulations or a manufacturing environment and will provide center-level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS) guidance.

This is a full-time position.

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent management, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
• Evaluate donor reactions at the facility and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of Center Physician’s standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
• Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees, as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER; refer to EHS guidance.
• Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.

• High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-Paramedic or EMT-Intermediate.
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
• Eligibility to perform basic IV therapy as required by state licensure.
• Complete FDA-approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

Location:

USA - AZ - Phoenix. U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $23.20 - $31.90. The actual wage offered will depend on qualifications, experience, and location, and will comply with state/local minimum wage requirements. U.S.
