Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts

• 4 total weekend shifts required per 4 weeks

• Holiday coverage based on unit needs

• Must have at least 6 months of Trauma Level 1 experience

• Minimum 2 years ER experience required

• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS

• Preferred certifications: TNCC and ATCN (ENPC not allowed to replace PALS)

• Must pass DYS exam prior to accepting position (2 attempts allowed)

• Pass/fail exam on day 1 of orientation

• Complete SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion and port-a-cath insertion

• Must maintain sterile field during procedures

• Float between 4 facilities: main campus, Westgate, and two free-standing ERs in Litchfield Park and Glendale

• Facilities are approximately 30 minutes apart and can be floated mid-shift

• Must have own vehicle for travel between locations

• 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio

• Use Cerner EMR system and Phillips monitors

• Must be able to read telemetry strips

• Work with 36 acute beds and 54 subacute beds

• Handle approximately 250-300 patients per day

• Navy scrubs required

• Must have natural hair color and no facial piercings

• Men must be clean-shaven for fit testing

• 2-3 shifts floor-specific orientation

• Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment

This major healthcare facility operates as a Level 1 Trauma Center serving approximately 88,000 patients annually. The emergency department features comprehensive trauma services with dedicated trauma bays and specialized burn and pediatric transfer capabilities. The facility maintains 24/7 pharmacy and respiratory therapy services, with pharmacists available in the ER for 10 hours daily. The organization operates multiple locations including a main campus, satellite facility, and two free-standing emergency rooms, providing extensive emergency medical services throughout the region.
