Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an IR Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience and Level I Trauma background for a 13-week acute care assignment in Interventional Radiology.
Responsibilities- Acute care hospital setting within an Interventional Radiology department
- Facility is a Level I Trauma center
- Department consists of 2 general IR suites, 1 spine IR room, and 2 neuro endo suites
- Typical caseload is 5–10 cases per day
- Common procedures include GI/GJ tubes, port placements, angiograms, lumbar punctures, myelograms, nephrostomy tubes, stents, IVC filters, and blood patches
- Neuro/endovascular procedures include embolizations, stents, and stroke treatment — neuro experience is a plus but not required
- Sedation cases are staffed with 2 RNs; the RT scrubs with the MD
- Day shifts, Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts (8:30 AM–5:00 PM or 9:00 AM–5:30 PM)
- Some Saturday shifts may be required
- No on-call requirement
- Floating is limited to within the Radiology department only
- Charting is done in Cerner; PACS (DR) is also used
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates; a driver's license is used to confirm permanent address
- Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any Common Spirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates who worked PRN through outside firms will be considered
- Orientation is approximately 12 hours and includes training on Philips Allura and Medrad injector equipment
- Manager interviews are required for this position
- Minimum of 2 years of IR Technologist experience required
- Level I Trauma experience required
- Active ARRT (R) certification required
- Active BLS certification required
- Arizona MRTBE-CRT license required if applicable
- Vascular Interventional (VI) certificate is a plus but not required
- Scrub experience preferred
- Experience with Cerner EMR and PACS preferred
- Familiarity with Philips Allura and Medrad injector equipment
- Neuro/endovascular experience preferred but not required
- A copy of a valid driver's license is required for consideration
- 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, each including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
