Patient Services Specialist

Community Bridges, Inc. (CBI) is an integrated behavioral healthcare agency offering a variety of different programs throughout Arizona. CBI provides residential, outpatient, inpatient, patient‑centered medical homes, medication‑assisted treatment, and crisis services to individuals experiencing crisis, opioid use disorder, homelessness, and mental illness.

The Patient Services Specialist is responsible for the front‑end business operations for the assigned clinic, including patient registration, verification of patient demographic information, and creation and maintenance of patient electronic charts. This position answers incoming calls to the clinic and routes as needed, schedules intake appointments within established time frames in the CBI EHR/EPM scheduling system, obtains necessary demographic information (name, address, phone number, e‑mail address, insurance information), completes insurance verifications for each patient visit, identifies patient amounts due at the time of service, and for uninsured patients identifies potential funding sources, eligibility for AHCCCS, and refers to the eligibility and enrollment specialist for AHCCCS screening and application.

Notifies a clinical team member when registration is completed for services and schedules follow‑up appointments for clinic services as indicated by the clinical team.

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree in business or healthcare preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience with insurance verification and/or front‑desk experience in a medical office setting preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of AHCCCS, insurance, and strong customer‑service skills required.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
