Position Overview

Responsible for assessing patients’ nutritional status and intervening with appropriate medical nutrition therapy (MNT) and/or education to improve, maintain, or optimize nutritional status.

Schedule:

Full-time days; no weekends.

• Formulate and implement nutritional care plans based on assessment of patients’ nutritional needs, diet restrictions, nutrition support and physician care plans. Each RD will be able to manage a minimum of 12 patients daily.
• Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of patient care plans. Document thoroughly and appropriately all nutrition care information in patient medical record.
• Counsel and educate on nutritional support and nutritional management to patients and their families, physicians, paraprofessionals, the community and potential candidates for hire within the corporation.
• Collaborate with medical staff, nursing, pharmacy, and other hospital stakeholders to plan and implement patient care as necessary in meeting the nutritional needs of patients.
• Monitor food service operations to ensure compliance with physician diet orders and quality standards.
• Integrate food and dietetic services into hospital-wide QAPI and infection control programs.
• Responsible for clinical nutrition and nutrition support in coordination with the use of Telemedicine and other nutritional services for patient care needs internally and externally as needed.

• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s degree, prepared RD/RDN.
• Licensure:
  Maintenance of dietetic registration.
• Training:
  Continuing education units (CEU) credentials and continual knowledge updates pertinent to job performance.

$10,000.00 sign‑on bonus available.
