Medical Scribe/CIS (Clinical Informatics Specialist) at Oak Street Health

Various. The position serves patient visit informatics responsibilities within Oak Street Health community‑based clinics.

The Clinical Informatics Specialist (CIS) acts as the provider’s personal data assistant during patient visits, handling documentation, structured clinical assessments, population‑health workflows, and team‑based care. The CIS facilitates efficient and effective medical care for patients.

• Observe and record patient encounters/examinations
• Document patient information, history, and diagnoses
• Assist in medical management
• Document medical decision making
• Consult with the care team and other providers on patient needs
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Commitment to ongoing learning and a full‑time (short‑term or longer‑term) paid experience in a patient care setting
• Advanced communication skills
• Typing speed of 70+ words per minute
• Basic medical knowledge or willingness to learn quickly
• Ability and willingness to take direction and work as part of a patient‑care team
• Excellent reliability
• Compliance with hospital and Oak Street Health policies, including HIPAA
• Fluency in Spanish, Polish, Russian, or other local community languages as required
• Valid U.S. work authorization

  : $17.00 – $28.46 per hour (base rate; actual offer depends on experience, education, geography, etc.)
