Speech Pathologist
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Therapist (ST) to join our rehabilitation team. The SLP will evaluate, diagnose, and provide therapy for residents with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders. This role supports residents in maximizing independence, improving communication, and enhancing overall quality of life in a skilled nursing setting.
Key ResponsibilitiesEvaluate residents to assess speech, language, voice, cognitive, and swallowing impairments.
Develop individualized treatment plans based on resident needs and physician orders.
Provide direct therapy to residents in one-on-one or group settings.
Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapy goals, progress, and home carryover techniques.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, social services, dietary) to ensure comprehensive resident care.
Document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with state, federal, and facility guidelines.
Assist in maintaining compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance documentation requirements.
Participate in care conferences and provide input for resident care plans.
Maintain professional licensure and continuing education requirements.
Promote a positive, supportive environment for residents and staff.
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
Current license as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the State of Arizona.
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred; CFY candidates may be considered.
Experience in a skilled nursing facility or geriatric setting preferred but not required.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Compassion for working with elderly and long-term care residents.
