We are seeking caring individuals looking for an opportunity to assist others. The Habilitation Tech (DSP) provides care services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. They provide community integration/inclusion guidance and consultation to individuals, families, and significant involved persons, and develop opportunities for persons with disabilities to participate in community activities while ensuring the health, safety, and well‑being of residential participants living in the facility through proper supervision.
QualificationsRequired
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Possess Arizona driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Certification in first aid, CPR, and de‑escalation training; if the candidate does not possess active certification, the agency will provide training.
- Ability to prepare required paperwork to support and document activities in the contractually required timelines.
- Ability to type and working knowledge/familiarity with computers and electronic clinical record keeping.
- Ability to successfully complete certification and trainings for First Aid, CPR, Article 9, Medication, and PROUD (aka Prevention/Support), Direct Care Worker and any other required training.
- Able to operate independently with minimal oversight.
- Demonstrated skills to ensure respectful communication to participants and coworkers.
- Must obtain and maintain a fingerprint clearance card and pass a background check along with Central Registry Clearance.
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays and a varied schedule each week.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Sign Language.
- Prior experience in Habilitation or Rehabilitation.
- Two years of experience in a person‑centered community integration program assisting persons with developmental and/or psychiatric disabilities.
- Very strong interpersonal skills.
