- $3/hour weekend differential
- 18% night shift differential (when applicable)
This position selects and places surgical instruments, supplies and equipment during surgery. Scrubs and provides instruments, sutures and other sterile supplies during surgical procedures. Participates in the training and orientation of surgical technology staff and students, as assigned. Requires proficiency to scrub on a minimum of two surgical specialties.
The Cardiovascular Operating Room Surgical Technologist is responsible for assisting the physician with advanced tasks during surgical procedures including cardiopulmonary bypass/heart‑lung machine use, cardiac assistive devices, and vascular access and interventions. The CVOR ST must be able to work under high pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
Core Functions- High school diploma/GED and current basic life support certification.
- Certification as a surgical technologist and one to two years of experience in a surgical technologist role, or three to four years in a surgical technologist role.
- Where applicable, registration with the State Regulatory Agency.
- Ability to scrub proficiently on a minimum of two surgical specialties.
- Manual dexterity and the ability to maintain professional decorum in highly stressful emergent situations.
- Ability to be conscientious, organized and orderly, and to respond quickly to the needs of the surgeon and patient.
- Must stay abreast of new developments in the field.
- Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
