Position SummaryAs a Surgical Technologist at Banner University Medical Center Phoenix, you will bring your experience and passion for health care to our Surgery department. This position will cover general, urology, ortho, endovascular, robotics, and plastics. You will select and place surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment during surgery. You will scrub and provide instruments, sutures, and other sterile supplies during surgical procedures.
You will participate in the training and orientation of surgical technology staff and students, as assigned. You must be proficient to scrub on a minimum of two surgical specialties.
Employment Type: Full-time
Hours per Week: 3-12 shifts | 36hrs
Shift:
Schedule: Monday-Friday
On Call: Yes, weekend and holiday rotations required.
Compensation Details: Flat rate $5/hr for call, $3/hr weekend shift differential, and 18% night shift differential when applicable.
Core FunctionsQualifications
- High school diploma or GED and current Basic Life Support certification.
- Certified as a surgical technologist or have 2-3 years of experience in a surgical technologist role. Where applicable, must be registered with State Regulatory Agency.
- Ability to scrub proficiently on a minimum of two surgical specialties.
- Manual dexterity and ability to maintain professional decorum in highly stressful emergent situations.
- Conscientious, organized, and orderly; ability to respond quickly to the needs of the surgeon and patient.
- Stay abreast of new developments in the field.
- Graduation from an accredited school of surgical technology.
- Additional related education and/or experience.
