Position Summary: Under the direction of the Practice Manager or designee, this position provides professional skilled age-specific care for patients in collaboration with the physician and other disciplines. This position demonstrates the professional skills and behaviors to promote comprehensive, cost-effective, and meaningful healthcare for consumers in a diverse healthcare environment. Performs patient care and technical-related services for the neonate through the geriatric patient population in the back office.

General & Core Administrative Duties
- Consistently performs specific assigned daily and general duties, meets productivity standards, and fulfills deadlines.
- Regularly attends and actively participates in assigned meetings and required organizational trainings.
- Meets established attendance criteria and reports to work promptly, prepared to perform the duties of the position.
- Knows, implements, and adheres to the organization's mission, values, policies, protocols, and procedures.
- Supports compliance and accreditation efforts (including OSHA, Joint Commission, HIPAA, VFC status, and various grants).

- Keeps all expirable documents and credentials fully up to date with HR (e.g., professional certifications, CPR/BLS cards, immunizations, fingerprint cards, driver's license/auto insurance, etc.).
Phlebotomy & Laboratory Technician Duties
- Follows standard laboratory methods, practices, policies, regulations, and quality compliance procedures.
- Collects blood and urine samples, applies required aseptic techniques, properly labels specimens, logs samples, and maintains strict responsibility for containers.
- Conducts simple and point-of-care laboratory tests on samples, assuming full responsibility for accuracy, preparation, and standardization.
- Operates, adjusts, calibrates, and maintains scientific and testing instruments (including autoclaves, glucometers, and other point-of-care devices) on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
- Completes quality control (QC) logs daily for all laboratory refrigerators, freezer temperatures, and dispensed medications.
- Performs monthly medication inventories, including controlled substances, and dispenses birth control or other medications as ordered.
- Orders all medical and laboratory supplies as needed to maintain appropriate stock on hand.
- Coordinates the clinical vaccine inventory: orders VFA program vaccines, performs monthly vaccine inventories, and updates the ASIIS program daily for all vaccines administered.
- Navigates Title X family planning services and sliding fee discount schedule requirements.
- Notifies patients of abnormal STD results, dispenses or calls in treatment medications, handles STD reporting to the CDC, and coordinates follow-up appointments.
- Provides critical patient education regarding diabetes management, insulin administration, and glucometer usage.
- Serves as the primary laboratory point of contact as needed.
Medical Assistant Clinical Duties
- Rooming & Vitals: Competently rooms patients, performs vital signs and measurements (including growth charts), obtains comprehensive medical histories, and documents info accurately in the EMR.
- Testing & Screenings: Conducts vision screenings, hearing checks, EKGs, spirometry, and ear irrigations as needed.
- Injections: Demonstrates competence in performing subcutaneous (SQ), intramuscular (IM), and intradermal injections of authorized medications or vaccinations.
