ADOLESCENT HEALTH PROGRAM MANAGER

Job Summary:

The Adolescent Health Programs prioritize the need to enhance equitable and optimal initiatives to positively impact the emotional, physical, and social wellbeing of adolescents, including youth with special health care needs. Programs and initiatives implemented include Teen Pregnancy Prevention, Bullying Prevention, Youth Mental Health, Youth Councils, and other adolescent health initiatives.
This Adolescent Health Program Manager (AH PM) functions within the Adolescent Health team under the direct supervision of the Adolescent and Family Health Manager. This position is responsible for managing youth mental health, bullying prevention and teen pregnancy prevention programming and reporting, and other adolescent health initiatives as needed, and is responsible for maintaining OWH websites up-to-date. The position assists contracted programs with ensuring that the concepts they plan to implement are evidence-based, realistic, and delivered with fidelity.

They will be required to work closely with each contractor to ensure compliance with the contract as well as state and federal law. The AH PM requires frequent statewide travel and occasional national travel. This position will have a hybrid work schedule and there will be occasional in office days for bureau related meetings and/or projects, as needed.

Job Duties:

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage program contracts including but not limited to: providing day-to-day technical assistance to contracted programs; review and approval of contractor invoices and reports; monitor sub-recipient program budgets, and coordinate paperwork for development of purchase orders. Ensure proper implementation of programming including conducting status meetings and annual site visits. Write grant applications and reports; write requests for proposals and evaluate applications. Implement and monitor program policy to adhere to federal and state requirements.

    Identify and develop collaborations and partnerships between individuals and agencies involved in adolescent health programming. This will require in-state and out-of-state travel.
  • Coordinate and/or participate in committee meetings and execution of projects. Plan and coordinate professional development trainings and conferences, contractor meetings, and others; develop written program materials and deliver oral presentations; develop required written reports, coordinate and create effective, visually engaging presentations within ADHS Brand Standards in Google Slide presentations.
  • Update Office of Women's Health websites on an annual schedule; work with programs and IT to develop new sites, content, or enhancements to websites.
  • Attend Bureau, Office, and team staff meetings and professional development conferences via in-person and hybrid; confer with supervisor.
  • Coordinates and delivers Youth Mental Health First Aid or assists contractors when delivering, as needed and as time allows.
