We are a seeking an ambitious, friendly, positive, and compassionate Infusion Prior Authorization Coordinator to join our team.

The Prior Authorization Infusion Coordinator is responsible for the financial and administrative coordination of physician administered infusion and injection therapies from order through treatment approval. This role serves as the department's insurance and reimbursement expert, ensuring patients receive timely financial clearance while maximizing reimbursement opportunities and maintaining compliance with payer requirements.

Prior Authorization Infusion Coordinator has limited patient-facing responsibilities, allowing dedicated focus on benefit investigations, prior authorizations, appeals, financial assistance, insurance compliance, and ongoing payer management. This position works collaboratively with In Office Infusion Coordinators, providers, nursing staff, revenue cycle, and outside infusion facilities to ensure seamless patient care.

Provide timely updates regarding authorization status, financial barriers, payer changes, and treatment readiness.

Maintain complete and accurate documentation within the electronic health record, including:

  • Benefit investigations
  • Prior authorizations
  • Appeals
  • Financial assistance approvals
  • Insurance correspondence
  • Patient communications
  • Outside referral tracking
Requirements Essential
  • Minimum two years of experience in infusion, rheumatology, oncology, specialty practice, or medical insurance coordination.
  • Experience with physician-administered medications and buy-and-bill reimbursement.
  • Extensive knowledge of medical benefit investigations and prior authorizations.
  • Experience with Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and commercial payer policies.
  • Experience with manufacturer copay assistance and charitable foundation programs.
  • Experience using Nextgen.
