POSITION OVERVIEW

Responsible for the processing and coordination of member intake referrals. Receives and reviews requests for services and coordinates appropriate referral interventions to meet the diverse needs of the members served by the organization. Ensure service requests include the necessary documentation and are processed timely and in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirements.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE , LICENSURE and CERTIFICATION
  • Associate's degree or successful completion of a medical records certification program preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in healthcare, preferably working directly with the collection and disbursement of medical records.
  • Must maintain a valid Arizona state fingerprint clearance card.
  • Must be trained in CPR, First Aid and Therapeutic Options
  • Must have and maintain a valid Arizona driver's license.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY and SKILLS
  • Strong understanding of medical terms
  • In-depth understanding of HIPAA guidelines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality of medical information.
    Must be competent in the use of electronic medical records software, as well as in the use of a computer, printer, copier, and telephone.
  • Preferred typing skills of 25 to 40 WPM.
  • Must be highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
