Clinical Lab Assistant

Sonora Quest Laboratories is seeking a detail-oriented Clinical Lab Assistant I to support our Laboratory Services team in a high-volume Healthcare & Medical Services environment. In this role, you will receive, label, and process patient specimens, perform basic and waived testing, and maintain accurate documentation in our lab information systems. You'll collaborate closely with technologists and clinical staff, upholding strict quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist with specimen collection, labeling, and processing under established protocols
• Prepare samples for analysis, centrifugation, aliquoting, and storage
• Perform waived testing and basic lab procedures accurately and safely
• Maintain lab equipment, supplies, and clean, organized work areas
• Follow all quality control, safety, and infection-prevention policies
• Accurately enter and verify patient and test data in LIS/EMR systems
• Communicate effectively with phlebotomists, technologists, and clinical staff
• Support troubleshooting of specimen issues and assist in resolving test delays
