Join ADCRR as a Healthcare Coordinator (Program Evaluation Specialist) and play a vital role in improving healthcare across Arizona’s correctional system. In this dynamic position, you’ll monitor contracted healthcare services, review medical records and contracts, conduct quality assurance audits, and ensure care meets federal and state requirements, ADCRR policies, and NCCHC Standards. Working closely with healthcare vendors and facility operations, you’ll analyze information, identify opportunities for improvement, and help strengthen the quality, timeliness, and effectiveness of care provided to incarcerated individuals.

This role is ideal for a skilled evaluator, problem-solver, and collaborator who is ready to make a meaningful, system-wide impact. Because healthcare oversight doesn’t always follow a traditional schedule, occasional observation of vendor activities outside normal business hours may be required.

• Reviews and observes vendor and operational processes that pertain to inmate healthcare, including medication administration and utilization management
• Analyzes and synthesizes information to ensure appropriate process suggestions
• Reports issues of concern to the supervisory chain of command immediately
• Reviews medical records for appropriateness and timelines of both on-site and off-site care
• Works and collaboratively with site monitor, and conducts clinical reviews. Tracks and reports monthly care provided to specific inmates
• Utilizes clinical knowledge and skills to determine appropriate inpatient or general population placement of inmates
• Collaborates with health care vendors, ADCRR providers, and operations to ensure appropriate bed management of inpatient and special housing units
• Completes required reports
• Conducts research and composes correspondence
• Attends meetings and training as required
• Drive/Travels on State business
• Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment

Knowledge of:

• Principles of healthcare delivery as recommended or mandated by the United States Constitution;
  Arizona Revised Statutes, the National Commission of Correctional Health Care, and the American Correctional Association, American Nurse Association, and the ADCRR Professional nursing principles, nursing services related to the pharmacological process
• Infection control in a high-risk environment
