Schedule:
8am-6:30pm
As a Floor Stock Associate, you'll play an important role in supporting patient care by maintaining inventory and organization in nursing unit nourishment rooms and designated floor stock areas throughout the hospital. You'll ensure supplies are available, accurately stocked, properly rotated, and presented in accordance with food safety and sanitation standards. Working closely with Nutrition Services and nursing staff, you'll help create a seamless experience that supports patient needs and efficient hospital operations.
WhatYou'll Do
- Stock and replenish nourishment rooms, floor stock locations, and other designated patient care areas.
- Restock beverages, snacks, supplements, disposables, and approved patient nutrition supplies.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate low-stock items, shortages, or product concerns to leadership.
- Rotate stock using FIFO procedures and remove outdated or expired products.
- Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary storage and nourishment room environments.
- Deliver supplies to patient units according to established schedules and department procedures.
- Verify product accuracy and ensure items are stored according to food safety and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and Nutrition Services team members to address floor stock needs.
- Maintain accurate inventory records as required.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, infection prevention, and workplace safety standards.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude toward patients, nursing staff, hospital employees, and coworkers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
- Previous experience in food service, healthcare support services, inventory management, stocking, warehouse, or hospitality environments preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift and move supplies, push carts, and stand or walk for extended periods.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and inventory management practices preferred.
- Serv Safe® Certification and State Food Handler Card (or willingness to obtain if required).
- Ability to successfully complete Thomas Cuisine's pre-employment screening requirements, including a criminal background check and drug screen.
This job involves regular exposure to a healthcare and food service environment with moderate noise and activity. Employees must have the physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods, push supply carts, lift and carry products, and perform repetitive stocking tasks. Occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions and temperature-controlled storage areas may occur. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.
