Behavioral Health Technician
Behavioral Health Technician (BHT)/ Behavioral Health Paraprofessional (BHPP) provides direct care, supervision, and therapeutic support to residents in our adolescent residential program. This role is ideal for compassionate, dedicated professionals who are eager to make a meaningful difference in the lives of youth.
What You'll Do
- Provide daily supervision, engagement, and mentorship to adolescent residents.
- Implement and support individualized treatment plans.
- Lead and co-facilitate groups, recreational activities, and life-skills training.
- Monitor, document, and report resident progress and incidents.
- Assist with medication monitoring per AZDHS regulations.
- Respond to crises with calm, trauma-informed interventions.
- Maintain professional boundaries and serve as a positive role model.
Hours of Interest
- Monday through Friday; between 8:00am - 2:00pm
- Saturday and Sunday; between 8:00am - 10:00pm
- Overnight; between 10:00pm - 8:00am
Qualifications (Per Arizona Standards)
Minimum Requirements (Behavioral Health Paraprofessional – BHPP):
- High school diploma or GED, and life experience OR 6 months of behavioral health experience.
Preferred Requirements (Behavioral Health Technician – BHT):
- Bachelor's degree in behavioral health field; OR
- Bachelor's degree in any field + 1 year behavioral health experience; OR
- Associate's degree in behavioral health + 2 years' experience; OR
- High school diploma/GED + 4 years' behavioral health experience.
Additional Requirements
- Annual TB screening and TB Blood Test (TSpot) within 1 year.
- Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card (or ability to obtain).
- CPR/First Aid Certification (within 30 days of hire).
- Crisis Prevention/Intervention training (within 30 days of hire).
